The Wangwu Mountain-Daimei Mountain World Geopark was approved by UNESCO in 2006 and is located in Jiyuan City and Xin'an County in northwest Henan Province, China. It includes Wangwu Mountain in the north, Daimei Mountain in the south, and the Yellow River Valley in the central region. The park is divided into 7 scenic areas: Xiaogou Background Area, Wangwu Mountain Scenic Area, Daimei Mountain Scenic Area, Longtan Grand Canyon Scenic Area, Yellow River Three Gorges Scenic Area, and Jingzixian Mountain Scenic Area, with a total area of 986km2. It is a comprehensive geological park mainly composed of geological profiles, geomorphic landscapes, and geological relics of ancient biological fossils, which complement animal and plant resources, history, and culture. The geological structure profile system of Tiantan Mountain reflects the geological evolution history of 2.5 billion years; The Xiaogoubei Galaxy Gorge showcases the ancient volcanic landscape from 1.7 billion years ago; The Bali Gorge in the Three Gorges of the Yellow River is an important node in the formation of the Yellow River's connectivity; The Red Rock and Blue Water of the Daimei Mountain Red Stone Canyon Group can be called a landscape gallery, and it is also a natural museum of sedimentary structures such as ripples and mud cracks; The Late Paleozoic mammalian fossils and Mesozoic trace fossils in the Fengmenkou area have world comparative significance. The park has over 1000 plant species, which can be called the "gene bank of seed plants in North China"; Taihang macaques are cute and adorable, they are elves in the mountains; The spirit of Yu Gong moving mountains has forged the indomitable national soul of the Chinese nation and is a precious spiritual wealth.
