A meeting reviewing 2017 and planning 2018 for Wangwushan-Daimeishan UNESCO Global Geopark was held.

On December 7th, a meeting reviewing 2017 and planning 2018 for Wangwushan-Daimeishan UNESCO Global Geopark was held by the Land and Resources Bureau of Jiyuan. Feng Changchun, Deputy Director of the Land and Resources Bureau, and Liu Xioaling, Director of the Wangwushan-Daimeishan Global Geopark Administrative Bureau and Chen Xinfeng from Daimeishan Geopark Administrative Office participated in the meeting together with managers from 6 areas of the geopark including Wangwushan, Xiaogoubei, Three Gorges of Yellow River, Daimeishan, Longtanxia and Jingzishan.

During the meeting, Liu Xiaoling reported the result of the revalidation in 2016 and recommendations from the UNESCO and shared what she learnt at the annual conference of China’s UNESCO Global Geoparks, including a presentation given by Liu Yuan from Geological Environment Department of the Ministry Land and Resources about the development of China’s geoparks and experience of revalidation of Yanqing UNESCO Global Geopark in 2017. The floor was open for discussion where managers from the 6 scenic areas of the geopark focused on the work has been done in geoconservation, tour guide training and promotion in 2017 and the work plan of 2018.     

Feng Changchun addressed the sense of mission and responsibility in managing the UNESCO geopark.
