Explore the secret of the house of king together with the road of science education
In recently years, Wangwushan-Daimeishan Global Geopark pays high attention to the work on geoconservation and the spread of the geological knowledge. We are the first to propose regulations on geopark management and geoconservation; we regularly carry out the reconnaissance work on geoheritages to protect the geosites in the park; we strengthen the co-operation between the global geoparks inland and aboard; we focus on the geopark network propaganda; we persistently plan and promote the activities such as summer camp, knowledge competition, report and into communities on popular science. Wangwushan-Daimeishan Global Geopark won first prize of advanced group on national geopark popular science work in May 2015;We won the title of the base for science education in June; and We are named the advanced group by Ministry of Labor and Social Security and Ministry of Land and Resources among land resources management system in December.
Actions on geoconservation
We compiled the geopark overall planning, carried out the Rules on Wangwushan-Daimeishan Global Geopark and the Rules on geoconservation in Wangwushan-Daimeishan Global Geopark, we founded the geoconservation survey group to monitor and check the geoconservation resources in the geopark, which has ensured the originality, naturality and integrity of all geosites in the geopark.
Features on popular science propaganda activities
Depending on The Earth Day on April 22, the popular science publicity week, and summer holiday, we held a series of activities ,including 10th anniversary exhibition of geoparks , the popular science knowledge lecture on Children's Day, geosciences summer camp, ‘visiting the geological museum with the interpreters’, ‘embellish the geological museum- picking up the white garbage’,‘Geological science knowledge competition’, ‘Follow me to practice martial arts’， geopark photography collection, ect. In addition，the Administration of Wangwushan-Daimeishan Global Geopark has cooperated with the organization-Geoparker，which is the first nature experience community focusing on geosciences spread, scientific tourism and environmental protection， enlisted 25 volunteers from the whole country and carried out a three-day popular science training camp activities in Wangwushan, Xiaogoubei, the Yellow River Three Gorges and Longtanxia. Through the participation， experience， and study, we encourage them to offer proposals on geopark planning, construction, and sustainable development.
We also encourage the volunteers spread the information of Wangwushan-Daimeishan Global Geopark on science education, geoconservation and specialized economy development through the new media, micro blog and we chat, to promote the geopark popularity and influence.
