Yangbajing National Geopark

Located in Yangbajing Town, Dangxiong County, Lhasa City, Tibet Autonomous Region, Tibet Yangbajing National Geological Park is composed of three scenic spots, namely, geothermal field, wangricuo and zangbuqu. It is a comprehensive plateau geological park integrating ecological and human resources, with a total planning area of 70 square kilometers.

The Yangbajing National Geopark in Tibet is located in the hinterland of the Qinghai Tibet Plateau, with high mountains in the southeast and mountains in the southeast. There are six types of geological relics, including geological (body and layer) profiles, geological structures, minerals and deposits, geomorphic landscapes, water landscapes, and environmental geological relics. There are more than 800 species of ferns, 88 species of gymnosperms, 25 species of mammals, 3 species of reptiles, 1 species of amphibians, 70 species of birds, and 15 species of fish.

In August, 2009, the Yangbajing Geopark in Tibet was approved by the Ministry of land and resources as the fifth batch of national geoparks.

In June, 2019, sister parks were established with Wangwushan-Daimeishan UNESCO World Geopark.
