Top of the Temple of Heaven on Wangwu Mountain

Jiyuan has complete landforms and superior natural conditions. Within the territory, there are not only two mountains, Taihang and Wangwu, which are seven hundred miles long and towering, but also the Yellow River and Jishui, which were formerly known as the "Four Dues". The ancient Wangwu Mountain is imbued with rich historical and cultural connotations through myths such as Emperor Sacrifice to Heaven and Foolish Old Man Moving the Mountain. During the prosperous Tang Dynasty, Emperor Xuanzong Li Longji granted Sima Chengzhen the title of Taoist priest to practice on Wangwu Mountain, which further enhanced its charm and mystery. As a result, emperors, generals, celebrities, and scholars flocked here, either to enjoy the mountains and water, or to retreat to the mountains and forests, where they wrote inscriptions, recited poems and paintings, leisurely tasted tea, and climbed the mountain to collect medicine, leaving behind a rich historical and cultural heritage for future generations.
