Academician Zhai Mingguo's research team
On August 17, 2012, a cooperation agreement was signed with the research team of Academician Zhai Mingguo.
Zhai Mingguo, a Precambrian and metamorphic geologist, a petrologist, an academician of the CAS Member, and an academician of the Third World Academy of Sciences. Currently, he is a researcher of the Institute of Geology and Geophysics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, a senior professor of the University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, a professor of Northwest University and Zhejiang University, and a part-time and guest professor of Sun Yat sen University, Jilin University, Southwest University of Science and Technology, University of Science and Technology of China, St. Louis University and Macao University of Science and Technology. Director of the Academic Committee of the Key Laboratory of Mineral Resources of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, director of the Academic Committee of the State Key Laboratory of Metallogenic Mechanism of Endogenetic Metal Deposits (Nanjing University), and director, deputy director and member of the academic committees of nine other national and departmental key laboratories.
Mainly engaged in research on metamorphic petrology, pre Cambrian geology and geochemistry, as well as igneous petrology, he is an influential scientist and academic leader both domestically and internationally. For many years, he has focused on cutting-edge core scientific issues such as the formation and growth of early continental crust, the structure and composition of early continental crust, the metamorphism of the Precambrian and Phanerozoic, and the similarities and differences in continental dynamic mechanisms. He has also studied the history of continental evolution and the enrichment mechanism of mineral resources, and has made systematic and creative achievements in studying the North China block and adjacent areas.
