The Wangwushan-Daimeishan World Geopark Management Bureau launched a science popularization campaign for "World Earth Day"

April 22nd of this year is the 54th Earth Day, a holiday established to protect the world environment. Since the 1990s, China has been organizing annual "World Earth Day" activities, with this year's theme being "Cherish the Earth, Harmony and Coexistence between Humans and Nature".

On April 22nd, the Wangwushan-Daimeishan World Geopark Management Bureau launched a promotional activity around the theme of the event, aiming to advocate for all citizens to protect forests, wildlife, wetlands, care for the earth, and jointly build a green and beautiful resource.

At the event site, by setting up consultation desks, setting up promotional display boards, hanging promotional banners, distributing promotional materials and small gifts, etc., we will popularize Earth science knowledge to past citizens, promote the origin and significance of World Earth Day, explain why we need to protect the Earth, and how to protect it. We call on everyone to start with environmental protection small things that can be easily achieved in daily life, such as resource conservation, green travel, and garbage sorting, cherish and treat the Earth well. At the same time, relevant laws and regulations for protecting forests, wildlife, and wetlands were also promoted to past citizens. 

This event distributed over 400 promotional materials and received over 30 on-site consultations from the public. It has increased the awareness of citizens about existing environmental issues, raised their awareness of World Earth Day, and highlighted the importance of protecting the Earth. At the same time, it also greatly creates an atmosphere of protecting forest resources, wildlife, wetlands, and caring for the Earth. It also makes the general public fully realize that cherishing the "Earth of all living beings" and protecting the Earth's environment require the joint efforts of the whole society.
