During a one-day geological survey, researcher Zhao Taiping measured and observed the Huangbeijiao geological profile and Xiong'er Group volcanic rock area in the park reserve, analyzed the rock structure, mineral composition, and dissolution degree of Xiaogoubei, and obtained the genesis of the Huangbeijiao geological profile and the changes in the Xiaogoubei ancient volcano. During the inspection, Researcher Zhao Taiping provided detailed explanations to the staff of Wangwushan-Daimeishan Global Geopark on the unique and distinctive field geological phenomena of Xiaogoubei, greatly enriching the geological science knowledge of the geopark.

As early as 1990, geological researchers from the Henan Institute of Geological Sciences (researcher Zhao Taiping worked at the institute from July 1990 to September 2000) had been conducting research on the volcanic geology of the Xiong'er Group in the Wangwushan-Daimeishan World Geopark.

In 2004, the Zhao Taiping research team of the Guangzhou Institute of Geochemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, formally established a friendly partnership between the two sides based on the principles of experience exchange, technical training, and achievement sharing, with the aim of enhancing research cooperation and information exchange on the joint research and utilization of the results of the Xionger Group volcanic geology, as well as serving the common interests of the sustainable and harmonious development of man and nature.
